Living Wall
There are two things about me you should probably know. First, I love power tools! Second, I have a black thumb. Seriously I can kill the un-killable plant. Pretty sure I could even kill a fake plant. With that said I was bound and determined to make the deck a enjoyable place to hang out. So off to Pinterest I went, and found this little gem!
This project did not seem to be that hard, so off I went and built the wall. I built this 3 years ago and you know what? It is still standing!!!!! Let me just tell you that is a HUGE deal for me! It has weathered tons of storms and multiple Minnesota winters.

I do not have pictures of the building process. However, Dremel really has good instructions. As far as attaching the wall to the deck. I soon realized that the original wall is attached to a metal deck, that conveniently has a large metal pole that is taller then the living all. (hence my shock and surprise that mine is still standing) I have attached mine with six "L" brackets. Three on the floor of the deck, and three more on the railing.

You can see in this picture that the wood is more worn. I did not do any staining or any treatment to the wood. So far I have been able to keep this alive! Now, I don't need any privacy from my neighbors because I cannot see them. However, this project would be great for anyone looking for some kind of barrier between them and their neighbors. I have had plans for 3 years now to add two more to the deck. I will let you know how that goes!
